MOSCOW, Jan 9 (PRIME) -- Russian oil company Gazprom Neft has discovered the Novosamarskoye oilfield in the Orenburg Region with geologic reserves amounting to more than 8 million tonnes, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The company discovered the field after drilling a prospecting and appraisal well at the field and receiving an oil flow to surface. The company has already prepared a concept for development of the field and has worked out an economically efficient option for production of hydrocarbons there, Gazprom Neft said.
“We have planned to drill two more exploitation wells at the Novosamarskoye field already in 2017 during a test production of the field,” the company said quoting Vadim Shashel, head of its geological works department.
